IPA Charities Supports ACLU’s Roger Baldwin Foundation
IPA Charities has donated $50,000 to the Roger Baldwin
Foundation of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Illinois.
"As a long-time friend of the Roger Baldwin Foundation, you know that your contribution
will be stewarded wisely and will help sustain our current challenges against
governmental attacks on civil liberties, and help provide the framework to roll back
some of the harmful damages that have already been done," said Colleen K. Connell,
Executive Director.
The ACLU of Illinois is a non-profit, non-partisan organization, dedicated to protecting
freedom, liberty, equality and justice for all within the United States. With more than
23,000 members throughout Illinois, and more than 550,000 members throughout the nation,
the ACLU accomplishes its goals via litigation, lobbying and educational programs. The
ACLU’s work is based upon, but is not limited to, protecting the liberties and freedoms
guaranteed by the United States Constitution, most notably those contained in the Bill
of Rights.
This year, the organization has expanded its field organizing program by adding more
organizers, supplemented its legal staff with an additional attorney, energized its
current grassroots activities to engage a new generation of ACLU members and supporters
and continued its commitment to seize every opportunity possible to defend civil
liberties in Illinois and beyond.
