IPA Charities Supports Womens Networking Community Event
IPA Charities has contributed $25,000 to
POWER®: Opening Doors for Women, a celebratory evening of networking opportunities for
Chicago-area women of all ages and business levels.
"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to impact the more than 500 women who participate
in this event," said Dana Burgess, president of IPA Charities. "We sincerely hope that every
charitable act we contribute to will make a difference in the lives of those around us."
POWER® 2008 will be held Thursday, May 22 at Adler Planetarium and will celebrate its
five-year anniversary. The event is hosted by Women’s Networking Community (WNC), a 501(c)6
not-for-profit organization committed to enabling professional women to transcend the
traditional boundaries of the workplace and society.
POWER® 2008 will begin with a kick-off reception followed by 18 simultaneous theme-based
dinners hosted by notable Chicago women in private homes and venues throughout Chicago. The
dinner topics are wide-ranging including subjects such as Women in Finance, Women in Arts
and Entertainment and Women in Corporate Leadership, among others. Each dinner features
prominent women speakers who are business and community leaders.
Throughout the years, POWER® has grown from 12 dinners with 250 women participants to 18
theme-based dinners with more than 500 women participants in 2007. It is estimated that more
than 700 women will participate in 2008. Corporate sponsorship has doubled since the
organization’s inception, and POWER® will be launched in four new markets in 2009.
