IPA Charities Supports Hasbara Fellowships

IPA Charities has contributed $25,000 to Hasbara Fellowships. Due to this contribution, Hasbara Fellowships can continue to bring college students to Israel in order to arm them with the materials and tools needed to promote Israel on their campuses as well as to enhance education around anti-Semitism and the need for diversity.

Hasbara Fellowships is currently in the process of completing a successful summer of Israel Activism Training. This training program sends students to Israel with the goal of "taking back the campus" from any anti-Israel and anti-Semitic propaganda that exists. The students’ activities are coordinated by 10 full-time staff members. Following the training, the students will have received the knowledge, tools and confidence needed to return to their campuses as leaders in the fight for Israel’s image. Upon the completion of this summer’s program, Hasbara Fellowships will have trained more than 1,200 students on more than 180 campuses.

Hasbara Fellowships was originally formed in 2001 in conjunction with Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The fellowship program, spearheaded by Aish International, educates and trains university students to be effective pro-Israel activists on their campuses. Hasbara Fellowships brings hundreds of students to Israel every summer and winter. Following the students’ return from Israel, the Hasbara Fellows receive staff support which offers various campaigns, programs, speakers and other materials and tools. The organization targets college campuses; however, the information and tools offered can be applied to other arenas as well.
