Principal For A Day

IPA Charities is a proud sponsor of Chicago’s Principal for a Day program. The affiliation with the program was established in 2004 and continues today. IPA has recently donated $10,000 to support after school activities, books and computers to the designated partner, Nathan S. Davis Elementary School, in Chicago.

The goal of program is that all PFADs continue to engage themselves, their companies, organizations or associations in continued involvement and support throughout the year at their school. IPA Charities has far exceeded that goal.

This year alone, company representatives visited the school and spoke to each class about the importance of education and continuing education. Employees were also given the opportunity to participate in the program by donating children books, movies and monetary donations toward the schools library. As well, the IT department refurbished 14 computers and donated them to the school for student use. More than 3,000 books and over 50 Disney movies were donated by employees along with $225.00 in monetary donations.

IPA Charities looks forward to continuing their partnership with Nathan S. Davis Elementary School through the years.

The most recent Principal for a Day was reported as a success with more than 1,600 corporate, community and civic leaders across the city of Chicago serving as PFADs in the 600 Chicago Public Schools. Following their PFAD duties, Mayor Richard M. Daley hosted a luncheon at the Chicago Hilton and Towers for all the participants and principals.
